This May, the Lake Youth Foundation (LYF) will award one $1000 scholarship, and one $500 scholarship to graduating high school seniors attending an accredited four-year college, community college or trade school in the fall of 2008.

The purpose of our scholarships is to help students residing in Lake of the Woods, who have volunteered their time and talents to better their community, pay for higher education tuition, fees and books. 

To be considered for these scholarship opportunities, candidates must fill out an application and be: 
a) a graduating high school senior from a public, private or home school with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; 
b) accepted at an accredited four-year college, community college or trade school; AND 
c) a dependent of Lake of the Woods member or registered tenant whose primary residence is Lake of the Woods. 

Selection criteria for the scholarships will emphasize: 
a) community involvement; 
b) recommendations; and 
c) scholastic achievement.
